Playa Maderas

Playa Madera was perfect for shell collecting....

And sand crab hunting....

She caught a baby sand crab!

There were all kinds of cool creatures in the tide pools...

And, all sorts of cool rocks to climb!

Rock steps...  There were little pools in between the rock layers...

Trying to catch fishies...

Danni had her shoes off at first... but the rocks and shells were too pokey... so she put them back on!

Finding more crabs to capture!

This beach had the coolest tide pools ever!

Rock climber!

Taking shots at the bar... of ketchup!  This is how they served the ketchup for our yummy burger lunch on the beach!

We visited Playa Maderas on a rainy-ish day.  Neither Danni nor I felt like getting in the water...  and then when we saw that the beach was full of shells and pebbles that were rough on our feet, we decided to stick to exploring.  There were tons of tide pools to inspect!  We saw sea anenomes, fishies, crabs, snails, and mussels.  We also got a workout climbing all over the rocks that lined the shore.  This beach was popular with the surfer crowd ... there were bigger waves out beyond the rocks.  Danni and I liked watching them ...  maybe we'll head back to catch some waves when we're bigger!!
