We spent the first week of our Nicaraguan adventure in the colonial town of Granada. The villa that we had rented online was flooded a few days prior to our arrival, so the rental company substituted Casa Vega instead. Danni and I approved. We had all 8000 feet to ourselves, including 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and our own private swimming pool!!! Well... almost to ourselves... there were a few creatures who shared the villa with us! Danni and I caught some slow-moving lizards, we were visited at night by the neighborhood kitty, and a family of bats lived in one of the rooms!! We weren't surprised, though, because most of the house was open to the outdoors... The pool was in the center of the living room (with blue sky overhead) and the upstairs bedrooms had balconies on both sides. Of course, Danni and I loved the pool the best. We swam two or three times a day... just because we could. Since the pool was in the living room, Mommy and Daddy could relax on the couch and watch us swim!! I think we need a similar arrangement in our California house!!
