DARP Robotics Challege

I got to use this little laptop to do some simple programming!

Danni liked the Lego building booth the best!

Her creation!

I got to try on a robotic arm!  If Danni hit a button, it made me hit myself... She loved this!

We might be famous... a camera crew was filming us as we checked out the robotic orthotics!

This robot could dance... almost as well as I can!

The guys from West Point had an obstacle course where you could pretend you were a robot.  We performed challenges that the robots in the 'real' competition did... just using a robot hand...  The special glasses blocked my peripheral vision...

Turning the wheel is a little harder when you're a robot!

So is picking up a block!

We got free safety glasses!  (Mine were blue and hers were pink, of course!)
WE found out that the DARP people were holding their Robotics Challenge nearby at the fairgrounds... so we decided to go check it out.  I am into Robotics these days after taking a class in it at school!  I thought that the event was super cool!  They had all sorts of hands-on exhibits for kids...  Danni thought it was boring nerd stuff.  (But she DID like building with Legos!)  We watched the robot teams compete for a little while ... but we were much more interested in the stuff we could play with ... and in all of the freebies that the vendors were handing out!  Maybe someday I'll be the one building those impressive big robots!!  They were super cool!!
