First Day of School 2015!

Ready to take on 1st and 3rd grades!!

I decided to change my hair from the spikey look to the 'flat' look this year...

Happy little school kids!

She is excited to have TWO recesses this year!!

Settling in...
Our 'summer' flew by!!  (Of course, it was only a month long, so it really DID fly by!)  We were grateful for the break ... and we were excited to come back to school!  Danni is a big first grader now, and I am a third grader!!!  We each picked our own first day outfits out and we happily embraced the day!  It was great to reconnect with our friends... but, boy, third grade seems like a whole lot of work!  ;)

Youth Safari Day at Rahaague's!

She is all ready for some action!!

Firing a pistol for the first time!

She hit a couple of targets!  Sharpshooter!!

Trying out a rifle!

Learning to cast!

This is the quietest she has been all week... didn't want to scare the fishies!

She caught a fish but it jumped off the hook just as it reached the shore....

She found a bear buddy...

And a lion too!

Practicing our aim with airsoft guns

BB gun action!

Learning to aim!

Shotguns!
I shot a clay pigeon!!

Learning gun safety!

Ready... aim....

She was a good shot too!!  Papa Don would be proud!

Slingshot!!
The local shooting range and Safari Club International hosted an AMAZING event for kids called Youth Safari Day.  Kinds were invited to the range to try all sorts of amazing activities!  Danni and I got to shoot all kinds of different guns (and arrows too!)  We shot pistols, rifles, shotguns, BB guns, air soft guns, paint ball guns... you name it!  (We also learned a LOT about gun safet -- at each station, they reviewed gun safety rules with us!!)  We also got to go fishing.  They had kayaking available too... but we passed on that because it was starting to rain and we didn't want to get muddy.  We had SUCH a great day -- we now want to take lessons at the gun range -- who knew that we were naturally sharpshooters?!

VBS Week!!

All ready for Vacation Bible School!

Danni and I LOVE our new church!!!  We loved it even more after spending a week at VBS (Or, as I called it, VSB!) We got to sing and dance to worship songs, we listened to Bible stories, we did science experiments, and we got to play in the water -- on some of the days they even had water slides!!!  It was a wonderful week!!!

Art Walk!!

Danni's creation!!

She is quite the artist!!

We drew architectural drawings in my class!!

We LOVE the Art Walk event at Rosa Parks!  This year, we had to go quickly because we had VBS that evening...  Danni and I had just enough time to show off our creations (And for our parents to purchase them!!)  What an awesome way to support the Art program at our school!!

Celebrating the 4th!!

We LOVE dressing up in our patriotic best!!!

Mommy's little firecrackers!

Danni drove the wagon and I collected candy!!

Marching with Papa!!

People throw candy all along the parade route!  YUM!

Sharing a parade route conversation with my sister!

Resting her feet with a ride!

We always love the carnival...  the fishing game is Danni's favorite!

She caught a kite!!

Danni's kitty fascinator from the balloon lady!

I got a patriotic sword.  It popped 2 minutes later.

You never get too old for the bouncer!!

Loving the playground!

I could do the monkey rings this year!

Look how tall we are!!!

I made a crown!!!

The next morning, we took a swim in Papa's pool... our last for the summer.  :(

Getting air!

Praciticing different cannon ball techniques!

Flying high!!
We made our way to Ventura for our traditional Fourth of July celebration!!!  We always march in the Push 'em, Pull 'em parade with our decorated wagon,  we love to collect candy along the way!!!  Afterward, we shopped (and collected freebie swag!) at the Street Fair and then had a yummy lunch with Auntie Lynn.  Then we headed over to Bethany Church for their carnival and live band.  Papa packed us a yummy picnic dinner, and we had a great time playing on the playground, climbing all over the bouncers, and doing crafts.  They even had a balloon lady!!  When it FINALLY got dark, we watched fireworks... then headed home for a long rest!  The next day, we made waffles with Papa, then went swimming in his pool, and then to a children's production of "The Little Mermaid" ... what a great Fourth of July weekend!!! :)
