One of our requests for our off track time was to go to a 'Snow Station House.'  So, that's how we ended up in Mammoth!  We rented a condo for a few days and hoped our trip would coincide with a snow storm.  Unfortunately, we were about a week too late!!  The weekend before, a storm dumped about 14 inches of snow up there... but by the time we made it up, the temperatures were in the 70's and a lot of the snow had melted.  That just meant we had to look a little harder for a good spot to sled!!  And we found it!!!  Danni and I spent several hours sliding down some awesome slopes!!!  The best part (in our parents' opinion) was that we are now old enough to carry the sled back up the hill ourselves!!  We were both so tired from all of the exercise that we crashed out hard each night!  Yay for the snow!!!
