Apple Picking!

It's a beautiful day for apple picking!

... and raspberry picking too!

She ate more than she put into her bag!

Fresh off of the tree!!

I agreed to smile ... kind of... if Mommy promised not to make me eat anything I picked!

Apple picking crew!

LOTS of apples!

We panned for gold and gems after we got tired of picking ....

We escaped some of the summer heat by heading up to the mountains to pick apples!  While I am not a fruit lover AT ALL, I do like to rip things off of trees, so it was still fun!  We met our friend Autumn and her cousin Laurel for a day of outdoor fun!  There were also ripe raspberries that were ready to be picked (and eaten!)  I think that Danni ate her weight in berries -- she said that they were so sweet but I still wouldn't try them.  After we picked apples, we got to try our hand at panning for gold and gems.  I found some quartz and amethyst... but I mainly liked sloshing cold water all over the place.  It felt good after all of the work we had done earlier!

Color Run FUN!

So clean... for now!!

Resting before the race with our friend Chloe.

Go, Danni, go!

Speeding right along!

I don't think my new teacher appreciated this.

Danni liked the purple station....

Getting colorful!

I even got to be on sprayer duty!

Filthiest finishers!!
Our school held a Color Run fundraiser.  It was SUPER fun!!  We ran laps around the park and in certain areas, people sprayed us with color!  We also got chalk dye packets so that we could throw color at people, and sprinkle it on ourselves too!!  We got a great workout, raised money for our school, and got a full body dye job!  It was a great day!!

First Day of School!

She wasn't so happy to be starting 2nd grade.

She complied a little bit after Mommy threatened her!

Our school had a photo booth out front!  (Danni wouldn't participate!)

The day will get better, Danni!!!
The first day of school was exciting... for me!  This was our first year at a new school (which is on Traditional schedule - the same one that Mommy and Daddy are on!) ... and I got accepted to the GATE program so I was anxious to hear about all of the cool things that the class was going to get to do!  Danni was not as thrilled as I was.  She missed her old friends and familiar faces.  She was a lot happier at the end of the day!!  I think that second and fourth grades are going to be great!!

Crystal Cove Beach Day

Hellooo Crystal Cove!

Catching critters

The water was sooooo cold!

Beachy keen!

Tidepooling

Don't fall in, Danni!

Trying to catch fish,,, they were too fast for us!!

Crystal Cove is one of our favorite beachy spots to hang out.  They have awesome tidepools that are full of little crabs, snails, anenomes, and some teeny fishies.  Danni and I had fun spotting some tidepool wildlife.  We also played in the waves and built a few sandcastles.  Soon it will be time to say goodbye to the beach and summer.... so we enjoyed every minute in the sun today!!

Drive-in Nights

Marshmallow sharpshooter!

We've missed our Autumn-baby!

We didn't really watch the movie!  We just wanted to play!!
We LOVE hitting the drive-in on warm summer nights!!  We brought some yummy snacks, our scooters, and our marshmallow shooters... and we hung out with one of our best friends!  It was a wonderful evening and a great way to spend one of our last nights before heading back to school. :(

First Time Fishermen (and Fisherladies!)

Daddy helped to reel in my first catch!

First fishie!!

Danni was only fishing for smart fish.  They were too smart to get hooked and stole all of her bait!

Waiting and waiting for a nibble....

Fishing photo op!

She caught one at last... but she was mad that it was only ugly and gray.  Not a real rainbow trout!

Catch of the day!

I cheated later and threw fish food in the pond and just netted one.  Pretty clever if you ask me!

Danni and a whole school of friends.
Danni and I have never been fishing, so Mommy and Daddy took us up to Mt. Baldy to give us a little experience.  The fish were super hungry and were biting like crazy!  Danni and I both caught 3 of them!!  (But neither one of us would eat what we caught!)  We also didn't like touching the fish once we had reeled them in.  They are so slimy and gross!!  I can't wait to test out my fishing skills in a creek or lake sometime soon - I think I have it down!!

Beating the Heat at Romp-o-Rama!

Collecting balls to dump... team work makes the dream work!

Loading up the ball dumper

Locked and loaded!

It's raining!!

Obstacle course!  These looked like giant pieces of licorice!

Wheeeeee!!

Bouncer boy!

Deputy Danni is on patrol!
She liked the slide!

Just swinging around!

Getting ready for a ball war!

When it is in the triple digits outside, Danni and I prefer to stay inside in the air conditioning! We also love to run wild ... Romp-o-Rama allows us to do both!  It is a cool indoor playground that has all kinds of ways for us to burn energy.  There is a giant play structure to climb and slide on... there is a play house, a trampoline, a ball shooter area, and a pretend city!  Even though it is cool in there, we still worked up quite a sweat!!
