It's Greek to Us!

Our ferry boat ... Danni was disappointed -- she envisioned a 'fairy' boat!

The view from the top deck... in the Bodrum harbor.

Good morning, Bodrum Harbor!
There were lots lot little areas for kitties to snuggle... and to eat.  But the kitties on Kos looked mangier than the ones in Turkey so Mommy wouldn't let us pet them.

Danni found some tiny Greek kitty friends!

Greek graffiti!

This is the Tree of Hippocrates... supposedly he planted it 2500 years ago.

The Tree of Hippocrates was ginormous...

Danni is super strong!

One of the reconstructed arches in the Agora (an ancient market place)

What was left of a mosaic floor in the Agora...

Danni met a little Dutch friend at McDonald's.  They couldn't speak one another's language - but communicated through technology...  :)

A beautiful Greek church!

We lit candles in the Orthodox Christian church for all of our loved ones in heaven...

Danni was trying to blow the candles out....

We thought these floors were SUPER cool!

Too bad they only had half of this pair of Crocs!

I bought a chess set -- the figures are Greek heroes!

We went to a Fish Spa... the little fishies nibble the dead skin off of your feet...

It was super tickly!

The fish had bad breath after eating Danni's toes!

Super cool restaurant!

Climbing the stairs at the first medical school in history... the Aeskleipion ...

This fountain STILL has a little bit of water trickling out of it!!

Stair climber silliness!

Exploring the Aesklipeion...

From up on this mountain you could see all the way back to Turkey!

This sassy girl enjoyed the view!

So pretty!

Looking down upon some temples and columns...

These columns were once part of a temple!

Some of these structures were built in 16th Century B.C.!

Danni thought this was a little stage for her to dance on!

I liked the cool headless statue here, but I didn't really want to get too close to it.

Hippocrates once walked here....

Greek ice cream bars are super yummy... we enjoyed them seaside while we waited for our boat!

Headed back to Turkey!

Such a gorgeous view! (And the landscape is cool too!)

I had fun exploring the ship...  It was probably smart to hang near the life rafts!

While we were in Bodrum, we took a day trip to the Greek island of Kos, which was only about 90 minutes away by ferry!  While the ferry ride was probably my favorite part of the day, we did enjoy exploring the island!  We visited an ancient marketplace and explored the first known medical school.  We also checked out some churches, made friends with Greek kitties, and tried the McFlurries at the Greek McDonald's (their decor and signs had no red in them!  Only green and yellow!!).  We did some shopping as well - I bought a Greek chess set .. the figures are Greek heroes and the board is metallic blue! The weirdest part of the day was our visit to the Greek Fish Spa -- they had tanks of fish that nibbled dead skin off of your toes... Danni and I couldn't stop laughing!!!  :)  We had a fantastic day and were excited to add some more stamps to our passport with a visit to another foreign country!
