Beachy Keen Bodrum!

Our second stop was in the beach resort city of Bodrum.  We spent a week here exploring, shopping, and swimming!  It was the warmest city we visited (about 85 degrees some days) ... so we did lots of swimming!! We LOVED our hotel and could have spent the entire week there!  The staff was super friendly and very helpful... and the accommodations were fantastic!

We flew on the local airline to Bodrum.  I admired the giant cones!

Breakfast in Bodrum was amazing!  This was the weird stuff that the grown-ups ate... olives and cheeses... There were also egg dishes and cereals for us to enjoy!
Danni and I liked the cereal bar!  'Coco Pups' in particular!

Danni and I had 'Coco Pups' and freshly squeezed orange juice every morning!  I could get used to this kind of a lifestyle!
One of the mornings there were pancakes in the buffet!  I think I ate them all!!!

There was a strange amusement park/carnival place within walking distance of our hotel.  Mommy wouldn't let us ride this ....

She DID let us ride on some wild animals, though!

Zachary found Papa's favorite animal!

On the shores of the Aegean.  Notice that it isn't sandy like the beached in California... lots of rocks here!

No sandcastle building for this girl!

We had lunch right on the beach... in a restaurant made of pillows....

Our hotel had the best places to relax....

And the best pool...  it was unheated... so we pretty much had the entire pool to ourselves every time we decided to take a dip!

Polar princess!

We had fun playing on the bridge and the island in the center of the pool!

Pool boy!
We LOVED the pool.. even with our clothes on!

Airborne!!

Checking out the boats in Bodrum Harbor.

We found a familiar hangout!

Frosty cones tasted exactly the same as they do back home!

YUM!

More cool boats!

We had an awesome view of the pool from our room!

Turkish standards for architecture are different than those in the U.S. ... check out the hazardous strangely shaped steps in our stair well!

We found an ancient cistern... it was used to store water hundreds of years ago!

I got a hair cut from a Turkish barber!

They even know how to spike hair in Turkey!!

Love this sister!!!

Dondurma on the pier!

We checked out some boats in the harbor ...

After 'shopping' the boats in the harbor, we rented the one behind us for a day!!

These were the ancient city gates... thousands of years old... and right next door to our hotel!

Scaling the gates...

Little girl... big climb!

There was also an ancient sarcophagus right next to our hotel...

Not sure if she should be dancing on someone's grave.....

We hit the local mall!  We found a place that served American pizza... the combo came with fries and a soda!  We were happy to have some 'normal' food!

We watched the 'Winx Club' movie ... in Turkish....

Apparently, the Winx Club isn't too popular in Turkey....

"Hey!  Someone threw flowers all over this bed!"

I found a kitty friend who lived in the bar near the pool.  I named him Ginger.

The pharmacist in town was bottle feeding a tiny kitten.  We got to love on it!

It was warm and humid and we had to do a lot of walking in Bodrum... this meant that we had to take a lot of ice cream breaks!  One more reason to love this city!  :)

There was a construction store right around the corner from my hotel!  I bought a cone sign to bring home!

Homework time!

We didn't complain about working since we got to do it on our awesome balcony!
