First Grade Field Trip!

Proof... you can get 6 first graders to sit still in one place at one time....

I got to make a frog necklace with a mold and some plaster of perris.

My buddy Michelle and me.

Waiting our turn for the plaster baggie!

Filling the mold!

Doing a bird beak simulation with chopsticks and sponges....

Checking out some minerals under a microscope!

Digging for fossils ... with a paintbrush!

Hunting for tadpoles in the swamp!

Checking out my catch!

Swamp thing!

Happy field trippers!!
My class visited the Hidden Valley Nature Center for our first grade field trip!  We learned a lot about the wildlife and plant life in our area!  We did some experiments and made a necklace in the art room.  We also took a (very long!) nature walk - the highlight of that was getting to catch tadpoles in the swamp.  I also liked enjoying a picnic lunch with the other kids in my class!  At the end of the day, we got to touch a real snake!! (It was really smooth and cold!) I just love field trips!!
