Ovarian Cancer Walk 2012

This little dude walked the entire race!  (We cheated and rode in the stroller for part of the way!)

Helping with the Team Stephanie sign!

Marching at the front of the pack...

Walking Papa and Ahntee Suz to the finish line!

Danni found a happy doggie friend!

Almost all of Team Stephanie posing with Dawn Harper, an Olympic Gold Medal sprinter/hurdler....

Danni and Dawn...

Silly time with Papa...

She LOVES her Papa!

Team Holmer/Brasher :)

I was tired after the long walk!

But not as tired as the doggie.  He needed lots of love (thankfully, Danni and I were onhand to help!)

Mommy loves this little face. :)

Upside downer!!

Peeking through!!  :)

Danni is still a little unclear on the concept....  :)
Once again, we joined Team Stephanie for the Ovarian Cancer Walk in Burbank.  It was a GREAT turnout!  Steph's parents and brother flew in (after completing another walk in Salt Lake the day before) for the festivities!  It was a wonderful day of visiting with relatives and friends and remembering what a beautiful person Stephanie was!!  Until they find a cure, we'll be here every year!!  Go Team Steph!!

Little Chicken Farmer! :)

Eggies!!

Checking the chicken house for more...
Some of our friends were having trouble with their neighbors complaining about the noise from their chickens, so we adopted 3 of their hens.  Danni and I were thrilled to discover that these chickens 'poop out eggs!'  Super cool!  They usually lay their eggs while I'm napping -- so it's a great treat to discover them when I wake up!  :)  Guess who get scrambled eggies for breakfast every morning?  :)

Swimming!!

Getting ready to take the plunge!

Brrrr!

Swimmer boy!

Mommy liked cooling off too!

Right before the lifeguard blew her whistle at me.  No jumping allowed!
We cooled off during Labor Day Weekend at The Cove's swimming pool!  The water park side was super crowded, so we opted to splash around in their gigantic pool.  It was lots of fun, and I spent most of the time practicing everything that I'm learning in swimming class!  :)  Danni and I were exhausted after an afternoon of water fun.  We went home and the entire family got a wonderful nap!  Yippeee!!  :)

Hidden Valley Nature Preserve

Our first complaint: 'It's toooo bright.'

Second complaint: 'It's too far.'  Third Complaint: 'It's too dirty.' Fourth complaint: 'It's too boring.'

Fifth complaint: 'There's dirt in my boot shoes!'

Mommy: If you smile nice at the camera, we'll go home. :)
We attempted a nature walk at the Hidden Valley Nature Preserve.  Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy picked a day where the temperature topped out at 10 zillion degrees...  Danni and I were not happy campers.  Or walkers.  After about a mile on the very long, very dusty, very hot, very BORING trail, we all gave it up and went to 7-11 for a soda.  We'll try again in the winter time!!  ;)

Building!!

Concentration!

Werkin' the screwdrifer!

Danni needed two hands... and two of Daddy's!

Since we don't watch sports in our household, I had NO idea what I'd built.  'It's the letter 'Y'!'

Re-doing it.  Mommy got the pieces mixed up.  This is why we read directions!

Mama Vee helped with the finishing touches!

She was proud of her letter Y too!

On to the painting station... our favorite part!

She managed to get paint on everything... except her clothes!  :)
It has been awhile since we've put our building skills to good use - so we were overdue for a visit to Home Depot's Kids Build workshop.  In honor of Labor Day, we built football goal posts...  Danni and I had NO clue what they were (thankfully, Daddy was born without the sports-watching gene!)  We happily nailed, scrwdrifed, and painted our 'letter y's' ...  Danni is now using hers to hold her necklaces and bracelets!!  :)

More Water Fountain Fun!!

Cold and crazeeee!

Trying to dodge the sprayers...

I stomped on them!

We LOVE water!

'It's a water obstacle course!'

Happy screecher girl!

I think the sprayers washed away her Beast face!
It's a perfect arrangement!  Mommy shops, and the kids splash away in the water fountains -- everyone wins!  (Daddy too, because he gets his toes wet while we're splashing!)  My parents got in trouble with the security guard for letting me run through the fountain topless!  Bad parents!!!

Soccer Season Starts!!

Our super cool team banner!

Pre-game warm-up!

The fun of U6 soccer... no one has their eye on the ball!

Getting ready to join the pack!
Now that I'm 5, I am old enough to play in our local soccer league (it's kind of like AYSO, except at my division, we play 4 on 4 with no goalie, we don't have a referee, and no one (well, except the parents) keeps score!  It's very low key!)  I am really lucky to be on a team with super nice kids!  And, as the youngest on the field, I'm learning a lot from them!!  Go Galaxy!!  :)

Splashing in Santa Paula!

Little pool = BIG fun!

The cold water was perfect on a warm day!

Splasherizers!

More splashes!

Climbing a tree that Papa used to climb when he was little!

She thinks she can do anything that I can do!

Crazy tree climbers!

My smile was as bright as the sunshine!
Papa invited us to barbecue with our cousins, The Petersons at the Santa Paula house.  The weather was beautiful, so Danni and I spent the afternoon splashing around in the kiddie pool that Papa got for us!  Even though it was little, we were entertained for hours!!!  We had a great day visiting with our Utah relatives, eating yummy food, and playing in Santa Paula!  :)
