We celebrated the big 0-5 with a small party with friends and family!  My friends Leo and Gracie came over to party with me along with my entire family.  We spent most of the party having a blast on the waterslide!!  Daddy made a delicious barbecue dinner (carne/pollo asada for the grown ups and hot dogs for the kids!), all of the kids got to get artsy with a surfboard decorating project, and we got to bust open my giant pinata (which was FULL of yummy treats)  I was so lucky to get even MORE presents!!  My favorites were the bicycle pumps and all of the cool water sprinklers/hoses that my friends brought!  Mostly, I was just excited to have all of my favorite people over at my house!!!

Birthday blowout!

Happy birthday boy!!

The best thing about being born on a holiday weekend is that you get LOTS of opportunities to celebrate!  My real birthday was awesome!  I got to pick the day's activities from morning until nighttime!  I woke up to lots of surprises in my room!  My floor was covered with balloons, there was a sparkly curtain in the door, and giant balloons on my table!!  I knew it was going to be a special day (and it was!)  We started off with a trip to the car wash, then we got pancakes for breakfast.  I came home to play with my birthday loot for a bit, then we headed out to John's Incredible Pizza for lunch and games.  I was SO tired - I took a little birthday nap even though 5 year-olds are a little too grown up for that kind of thing!  When I woke up, Papa came to visit (bearing ANOTHER round of presents!!)  We played for awhile, then I chose to have dinner (pancakes and grilled cheese!) at Burger Basket.  After dinner, Papa took me to the Dollar Tree and let me pick TEN items (I usually only get one!)  Shopping sprees are FUN!  For my last treat, I wanted chocolate AND vanilla cupcakes AND cake for my birthday dessert and my wish came true!  It was a spectacular day and I loved celebrating with Papa, Mommy, Daddy, and Danni.  I think being 5 is going to be pretty darn fun!!!

I got to celebrate my birthday a couple of days early with a snack party at school!!!  Mommy brought cupcakes for my friends and I to enjoy during snack time!  It was such fun!  I got to stand up on my chair and all of the kids sang Happy Birthday to me!!  Danni even got to join in on the fun... she pulled up a chair and had a cupcake with all of us big kids.  I loved sharing my birthday with all of my friends at school!  :)

My preschool puts on an incredible Spring Program ... every class sings and dances to a song on stage...  This year's theme was 'California Dreamin'  and my class's song was 'California Sun' ...  My favorite part of the song is when they say 'pretty little chicks' because it reminds me of my baby chicks at home!  :)  Mommy and Daddy sat on the wrong side of the sanctuary, so they couldn't snap any pix of me working the stage (until the finale!) ... but they could still see my adorableness!!!  They were so proud of my friends and me for a great show!!  :)

We happened to visit the San Diego Wild Animal Kingdom on the day they were celebrating the park's 40th anniversary!  Cool!  We REALLY enjoyed our visit! We saw lots of cool animals on our tram ride -- Danni loved seeing all of the baby animals - especially the newborn wildebeast (go figure!).
